I did chest, shoulders & triceps yesterday. During phase I the workouts are comprised of doing a few sets and then repeating. This workout has 24 different exercises. Muscle confusion is at the heart of this workout because each exercise is different, there’s no going back for a second set to do it right if you didn’t bring it the first time. Sometimes not having the second set to make adjustments is bad. For a number of exercises I felt my weight to low, and for others I was dying after 3 - 4 reps. I suggest you make notes for this workout regarding which weights you used but were they to low or to high.
The only exercise I couldn’t do was the 1 armed pushup, uh, and the clap pushup was impossible but I modified and went to my knees. The only way to modify the 1 arm pushup is to use 2 arms, so that exercise got a FAT 0. The bent knee clap pushups were still very difficult, I got 2 done.
Overall it was a good workout, and to think I was about to skip it. I didn’t start the workout until 9pm, so it was a little rough getting through the warm up, but in the end, and more so this morning I’m feeling it.
High Five! I did Kenpo X today. Nice way to end rest week. Or super rest week if you want to consider the fact I missed 5/6 px90 workouts. Well I did it and I’m glad too. I have that great feeling that I’ve nearly forgotten from not doing my workouts. Missing the entire week would have made next week (phase 2) rather rough so thank god I manned up and Brought It. Tomorrow I go home so I need to post this and be social for my last night. Looks like everybody’s watching Cloverfield, hopefully it doesn’t suck.
Ugh. Somebody please kick my ass. I haven’t done anything this week. Today is my favorite workout so one would hope at the very least I would complete it today. I’m off to a zoo momentarily, haven’t been to a zoo in a few years so it should be fun. As for Kenpo X, let’s just see.
So I arrived in Michigan yesterday. I’m here until Sunday. I had planned to do my px90 workout this morning but I opted to sleep in. I’m going to do it tonight after the game. I’m going to a Detroit Tigers game with family at 1. I’m not much of a baseball fan, actually I’m not one at all, but they want to go so I’m not going to be the stick in the mud. Well I’m being prodded to take a shower. If you’d like to flip on your TV around 1 perhaps you can see me sitting in the outfield, I’ll be the guy with the ecstatic look on his face. Bye for now.
Hello loyal fans. It was 95 yesterday and it is 92 today not counting humidity. I don’t have an air conditioner in my living room. PX90 cannot occur until this is taken care of. I’m not one for killing myself. I feel bad but the good news is the weather is supposed to break tonight, and it is rest week. I’ll holler some more when when I have more to write.
Today officially starts my first px90 rest week. It is also 95 degrees outside and the AC isn’t in the living room. It looks like I’m going to hold off on my workout until the sun sets. I went to the doctor about my hip. He referred me to a physical therapist. My primary doesn’t believe it to be a fracture but rather some type of muscle strain. Hopefully next week I can get an appointment. I have to jet now, but I’ll write more later.
I added these pictures because while it might be hard to tell my shirt is soaked and I’m covered in sweat. My apartment is on the third floor, I’ve yet to put in my AC and it’s f*?&ing hot. It was hot before I started, hotter during and by the end I was roasted. Mid way through I started feeling dizzy so I hit pause, downed nearly 20 ounces of water, belched loudly for all to hear and then continued on. It’s amazing to think that three weeks ago when I started the px90 I was dogging it, and now I want to keep going after the workout ends.
Next week is recovery week which lines up nicely with my mini vacation in Michigan. (Check out that link for Michigan, google put the marker in the middle of the lake. You think with all that technology they could have put near the land.) I’m away from Wed night until Sunday night. So Thursday - Saturday I’ll be doing my workout on the road.
Tomorrow will be my 4th set of pictures. Oh side note before I forget. I saw a friend today I haven’t seen in a few months. First thing he said was “Are you working out again?” It’s pretty cool when people notice the change you go through. I don’t see much change in my photos, but my posture always improves when working out, my arms getter bigger first, and my shoulders broaden. Oh, and my confidence shoots up. I probably carry myself in a more secure manor. Either way it felt good knowing other’s can see the improvement.
Hey guys, I missed yesterday due to lack of sleep, even now as I write this I’m a little groggy but I’m going to man up in a minute and get my act together. I need to shower and go food shopping, but when I get back it’s px90 time. I love Kenpo X. Last week I did well with it so I’m looking forward to upping the intensity this week. I can’t believe it’s almost rest week. How time flies.
I went to bed at 6am. I got up at 9am. I have no food in my house and I’m exhausted. I’m fearing missing my workout today. Nooooooooooooooo. I’m going to man up and get some food in me, take a nap and hit my workout tonight. I’ll post later with details on how I did. If you’re into praying… please do so now. Thanks.
This morning was shitty for me. I went to bed late, got up early to a hot, sticky apartment with a lot of shit to get done. I just did my workout and now I’m spent but feeling great. It really is amazing how working out can change your mental attitude on things. I mixed a little recovery drink into my water and gave it my all. I skipped Ab Ripper X because I’m still concerned about my hip and those exercises put strain on them. I have a doctor’s appointment next week to figure out what’s up. I’m hoping it’s nothing to serious. I need to go shower and do some work, until next time… Have a great day.
It’s been confirmed. I’m still skinny after 2 weeks. I’m not fretting quite yet though.
Yesterday I went hiking on Black Mountain and screwed up my hip. This was the second hike of the season, and also the second hike that my hip started bothering me once the grade started to steepen. I called my doctor, I want Xrays to determine if one of my legs is longer than the other. I broke my femur nearly 20 years ago, I’ve heard that sometimes the legs can become irregular. I’m too young to have hip problems, so I’m going to nip it in the bud now.
As for PX90, I’m just about to start Chest and Back. I’m ready to Bring It this week as next week is rest week. I’m off to do my workout now.
I just completed Kenpo X and I did fantastic. Last week I was dogging it at times. There is basically 25 reps per move or combo and last time I stopped around 15 - 18 once I was half way through the workout. Just now I was able to do 22 - 25 reps throughout. II was actually disappointed when the DVD ended. I’m toying with the thought of calling my friend to see if he wants to go hiking because I have so much energy. Tomorrow is picture day, until then have a great day.
Well it’s a lazy Saturday. I should be cleaning the house but I’m half way between an early afternoon nap and sitting in the unkempt office wasting time on the net. I post pictures tomorrow night but before I do I thought I’d comment on the near close of my second PX90 week. My numbers have all improved. I feel stronger and have much more energy then before I started, but sadly I look no different. Still skinny. I keep thinking how I could be doing more pushups but look the exact same. No worries though, my posture is improving. I tend to slouch, but when I’m working out my shoulders pull up and back.
Eating is still an issue. While I’ve cut down on a lot of bad shit it is still difficult to stay away from ALL the bad stuff (deep dish pizza from UNO’s last night for example). Sometimes I don’t know what I should be eating. My cooking skills are practically nil so preparing tasty healthy food is very hard. Lately I’ve been looking on the Food Network for easy meals I can prepare. I’ve been eating oatmeal in the morning, waiting an 45 min or so, doing my PX90 workout, eating a 3 egg omelet with red peppers, onions, and cheese. I used to eat eggs with ketchup but with the 3 ingredients in my eggs I have no desire for ketchup. I’ve been trying to eat some sort of sandwich snack early afternoon, no more ham, I’ve switched to Turkey which apparently is better. As far as dinner, it’s usually a meat (Ribs, Chicken, Fish, etc).
Fish is my new kick. I’ve been told it’s better than chicken, beef, steaks, etc. If I go to the fishmonger I can get daily catches which are already marinated. For 4 -7 bucks depending on the type I can get a very nice serving. So for less than $20 bucks a week I can get 3 - 4 servings of fish. That’s not bad. The only thing I need to do now is reintroduce salad into my dinner.
I’m gonna go make some instant miso soup and watch my room mate play Mario Kart Wii. Then it’s nap time, PX90’s Kenpo X, shower, clean house and enjoy another Saturday Night.
Just want to make a quick comment about weather. Doing plyometrics or any PX90 Workout for that matter in hot weather is shitty. I was sweating bullets during the warm up. By the last 20 minutes I was just going through the motions.
I felt inclined to post. As I mentioned earlier today, before I did my PX90 workout, I was concerned about being tired and not being able to bring it. I actually did pretty well. My chest numbers went up and my back stayed consistent. I lost all my energy during Ab Ripper X and had to stop half way through. I’m a little upset by that, but all in all it was a good workout. It’s amazing that after 1 week I’m already feeling like a million bucks.
Seeing my skinny-assed self is rather embarrassing but hopefully that motivation will keep me moving forward towards a non-anorexic body type.
