I just completed Kenpo X and I did fantastic. Last week I was dogging it at times. There is basically 25 reps per move or combo and last time I stopped around 15 – 18 once I was half way through the workout. Just now I was able to do 22 – 25 reps throughout. II was actually disappointed when the DVD ended. I’m toying with the thought of calling my friend to see if he wants to go hiking because I have so much energy. Tomorrow is picture day, until then have a great day.
Monthly Archive for May, 2008
Well it’s a lazy Saturday. I should be cleaning the house but I’m half way between an early afternoon nap and sitting in the unkempt office wasting time on the net. I post pictures tomorrow night but before I do I thought I’d comment on the near close of my second PX90 week. My numbers have all improved. I feel stronger and have much more energy then before I started, but sadly I look no different. Still skinny. I keep thinking how I could be doing more pushups but look the exact same. No worries though, my posture is improving. I tend to slouch, but when I’m working out my shoulders pull up and back.
Eating is still an issue. While I’ve cut down on a lot of bad shit it is still difficult to stay away from ALL the bad stuff (deep dish pizza from UNO’s last night for example). Sometimes I don’t know what I should be eating. My cooking skills are practically nil so preparing tasty healthy food is very hard. Lately I’ve been looking on the Food Network for easy meals I can prepare. I’ve been eating oatmeal in the morning, waiting an 45 min or so, doing my PX90 workout, eating a 3 egg omelet with red peppers, onions, and cheese. I used to eat eggs with ketchup but with the 3 ingredients in my eggs I have no desire for ketchup. I’ve been trying to eat some sort of sandwich snack early afternoon, no more ham, I’ve switched to Turkey which apparently is better. As far as dinner, it’s usually a meat (Ribs, Chicken, Fish, etc).
Fish is my new kick. I’ve been told it’s better than chicken, beef, steaks, etc. If I go to the fishmonger I can get daily catches which are already marinated. For 4 -7 bucks depending on the type I can get a very nice serving. So for less than $20 bucks a week I can get 3 – 4 servings of fish. That’s not bad. The only thing I need to do now is reintroduce salad into my dinner.
I’m gonna go make some instant miso soup and watch my room mate play Mario Kart Wii. Then it’s nap time, PX90’s Kenpo X, shower, clean house and enjoy another Saturday Night.
Just want to make a quick comment about weather. Doing plyometrics or any PX90 Workout for that matter in hot weather is shitty. I was sweating bullets during the warm up. By the last 20 minutes I was just going through the motions.
I felt inclined to post. As I mentioned earlier today, before I did my PX90 workout, I was concerned about being tired and not being able to bring it. I actually did pretty well. My chest numbers went up and my back stayed consistent. I lost all my energy during Ab Ripper X and had to stop half way through. I’m a little upset by that, but all in all it was a good workout. It’s amazing that after 1 week I’m already feeling like a million bucks.
Seeing my skinny-assed self is rather embarrassing but hopefully that motivation will keep me moving forward towards a non-anorexic body type.
Not much change in looks but let me tell you, my body is beat. PX90 kicked my ass this week. Especially Kenpo X on Saturday. That shit does a number on my back. As I type this now I’m dreading my Chest and Back workout I’m about to do. I went to bed late last night. I have Showtime on Demand so the friends have been coming to my place to watch Dexter. Last night they marathoned until 530. Having watched the episodes months ago I went to bed around 4. Regardless I’m living on little sleep so I’m afraid I won’t be able to bring it. I have some Recover Drink from the last few rounds, I might slip a little into my water for today’s workout. Well I’m off for now. I didn’t post my workout calendar because what’s the point. Next week you’ll be able to see my gains, so I’ll wait until then.
I’ve completed my first three px90 workouts for this week. I have not been eating enough food before and after my workouts. Yesterday, and now as I’m typing this, I became light headed and felt as though I’m about to pass out. Apparently 600 calories are burned during each px90 workout. CRAZYness! If I’m only eating 300 cals before my workout and I don’t eat soon after I’m going to crash.. I think. I’ve been eating oatmeal with raisins and a sliced up apple mixed in each morning. I was never a fan of that stuff in the past, but it’s a quick and healthy way to start the morning.
This Sunday I’ll be posting my first weeks pics as well as my workout calendar. So check back to see how a skinny guy fairs.
Well you can’t do something half-assed if you’re holding yourself responsible. Here’s my before pictures. Every Sunday or Monday morning I’ll post updated pictures. I’ll post to the blog a few times a week, no more of this every day shit. I start px90 in about 90 minutes. I’m downing water as I type. I just placed an order for some more PX90 Recover Formula over at ExtremeBodyWorkout, this stuff allows me to “Bring It”.
I start the PX90 Monday. Tomorrow I’ll throw up a few pictures. I’ll blog a few times a week to keep myself in check and in 90 days I’ll be happy. It’s a beautiful day outside and I don’t want to be in here typing. So off I go to the wonders that await me outside.
It’s official. I’m gonna do it next week. No modification, no skipping days, no eating cheetos while drinking a beer on the couch. I’ve got a friend who started this week and another who’s going to start in 2 weeks. My main motivation is coming from this ridiculous beer gut I’ve some how managed to acquire. It’s more stupid looking on a skinny guy. The first time I attempted the PX90 system it was months ago. All I keep thinking about is this… 90 Days is 3 months. I could have completed the program 2-3 times over by now. Imagine that. If I was on my 3rd time. I’d be ripped and feeling great for summer. Now its mid-May and I’m complaining about a beer gut. You’ve heard it from me before, but I’m hoping you’ll give me one more chance to prove I’m not a lazy bum. So check back here Sunday night for my before pictures. That’s right, you heard it. My before pictures.
One of the blogs on my blogroll, a personal favorite of mine, P90X-Review has been dormant for the past few months but looks like it might start up again. Created by this guy Brian last year he posted pictures and a post every day. He was a lot of motivation for a lot of people as well as me. He stopped posting awhile back despite the support of his many fans. Apparently he had other obligations that required his time.
It looks like after all this down time Brian found somebody as motivated as he was to take over his blog. I don’t think Brian would just turn his blog over to anybody. This is monumental! This new guy James is going to post every day, including pictures. If there was ever a time to start the px90 now would be the time.
After falling off the wagon… uh 4 times now… this might be my resurrection. If this guy James can make it for 90 days I’m pretty damn sure I can too. If anybody is thinking about starting the program and would like the support of this wonderful px90 community then I highly recommend tuning into Brian’s, well now it’s Jame’s Blog, or check in with me as I’ll be reporting as well.
Monday I did some exercises found in the Chest and Back px90 DVD. I did the following 3 times with about 20 minutes in between each set:
Bottom line is that px90 is based on the basics. If you do pushups and pullups you are going to feel it. I feel it all right. I’m planning on doing some shoulders and arms today and then doing this chest back routine on Friday, perhaps adding some flys.
I haven’t written much lately as you can see. I’m in denial and writing about it confirms it. But now I have no choice, I have to face the music. I skip a day here, then there, then before I know it an entire week goes by with no px90 workouts. I’ve abridged the workouts and I still can’t complete the program.
There is really only one alternative left that I can think of… a complete overhaul of the px90 system. Pick and choose a few exercises from the DVDs to incorporate into my own workout routine. The px90 works! There is no doubt about it, each time I did it I had more energy, flexibility and strength. I was happier. But doing it is a pain in the ass.
Am I going to quit, not really. I’m going to start working out again but at this point in my life it isn’t going to be the full px90 program.
