px90 – 2 days left in Florida

Today is Saturday and I am being super lazy. I read (The physics of Star Trek) outside to get another day of sun and that’s it. Geesh, 3 oclock and I haven’t done shit. I’m going to go take a nap. Apparently I’m going to the pool at 5, as of now I don’t have the motivation.

Summary of px90 workout: Still nothing.

px90 – Burnt in Florida

I played another 18 holes of golf yesterday… Golf is turning into my px90 substitute. Did quite well on the last 9 paring my last two holes. Monday I was 4+ over par for every single hole yesterday I was 1 – 2 over par each hole, not to bad. So I’ve played 4 rounds of 9hole courses this week with a 300% improvement. Sunday we are going to an 18 hole course, I can’t wait to play. I also can’t wait to get home to go to the driving range, I think I need to hit 100 balls back to back to really improve my shot.

I didn’t make it to the pool yesterday but I sure did burn outside the house while on the phone for an hour. I’m not going to peel but I do look like a lobster, I’ll definitely be leaving with a tan.

Summar of px90 workout: Finally got my over-cooked tan!

px90 – Florida Day 5

I woke up about an hour ago and did some stretching for 30 minutes. I know this doesn’t count as a px90 workout but I feel better knowing I did something. The plan for today is a round of golf and reading (tanning) by the pool.

Summary of px90 workout: I stretched!

px90 – Florida Day 4

No px90 workout so far this week. Yesterday I went to a rifly range and squeezed off a few 22 rounds from a rifle and luger. I shot a few 35 rounds from a Czech mini handgun. 5 slug shots from a 16 gauge has my shoulder feeling a little sore. One of the regulars there let me shoot a clip from his 45. After 2 hours of shooting targets I was sold on joining the rifle range back home. The weather is in the 70′s and climbing. Tomorrow and Friday are my designated tan days. Perhaps I’ll get to the pool to get a bit of a workout in.

Summary of px90 workout: Enjoying the sun, not doing any workouts.

px90 – In Florida this week

I’m in Florida this week visiting family. My px90 workouts are going to hurt. However, I did do some pushups and stretching today, as well as two 9-hole rounds of golf. The weather was in the mid 70′s today, a little breezy, but all in all gorgeous. I’ll keep you up to date with my activities while on vacation. Oh, I’m using a dial up connection which absolutely blows. So I will be keeping my posts brief.

Summary of px90 workout: When on vacation do a few pushups.

px90 – Mother in town visiting

My mother is in town visiting. She’s actually in the other room watching Minority Report. Before she wonders where I’m off too I’ll let you know I did Yoga X this morning. Cut it down to 45 minutes like last week. I hope I’m able to complete my px90 workout tomorrow with my mom here. Gotta go, will write more tomorrow.

Summary of px90: Mother in town visiting… blog on hold for now

px90 – Week 2 – Day 3

Haven’t posted a real one this week so here it goes. This week is definitely progressing better than last week now that I’m back to it. Reps and weights across the board are higher. I’ve had more energy during the day by doing the px90 workouts in the morning. Doing them in the morning also keeps me stress free throughout the day knowing I don’t have to do it later that night. (Now if only I could post in my blog in the morning as well.) Still haven’t squared away an exact plan for T-F’s workouts but the days of 60 – 90 min workouts are gone.

Summary of px90 workout: I like doing arms.

px90 Worksheet

In my quest to compile my first week of px90 workouts I came across a nice little gem I’d like to share with all of you. Somebody who has more excel expertise than I created a very in-depth xls document which allows you to keep track of your progress. This guy/gal deserves a round of applause for making this. I’m in the progress of modifying this document to taylor my routines… it’s actually a godsend because I don’t have to recreate the wheel. I highly recommend downloading this if you are currently doing the px90 or thinking about starting.

px90 – Round 3 – Week 2

Hey guys. I’m going to be a bum today and skip out on my post. I bought a new car Friday (my first car ever in life) and I’ve been running errands and seeing people I haven’t seen in awhile. I promise to post more tomorrow.

Summary of px90: I got a new car!

px90 – Round 3 – Day 5 and Day 6

I’m consolidating yesterday’s and today’s px90 workout into one post. Yesterday was Legs and Back. I never liked doing legs when I went to the gym, I tried skipping it every chance I could. So I have to be really careful about cutting too much legs out of the workout. If I could I would save my time by just eliminating the leg portion of Legs and Back. I’m not going to do that though as it isn’t the best approach for me or you. However I was able to once again cut about 20 minutes out of the workout.

For px90 Kenpo X I didn’t cut anything out for 2 reasons. The first being it’s Saturday and I have a bit more time on Saturday’s to workout. Secondly I like this workout. The irony is that this is probably the easiest workout to eliminate exercises. The other day I wrote about eliminating the initial moves in Yoga X. Kenpo X is the same way. First you do an upper cut, then an upper cut and hook, then an upper cut, hook, and jab, etc. If you eliminate the first few sequences you can save a lot of time. By skipping to the last or last 2 sequences you still get a pretty good workout with 50% less time spent.

Tomorrow I will be sitting in front of my TV watching px90 DVDs, matching the DVDs against my first weeks schedule and inputting it all into excel. I’ve been wanting to relearn excel for awhile so this will help out. My goal is to get the schedule inputted and then over the next few weeks figure out how to make graphs to track performance for each workout. I will be posting this excel with updates as they are available. Feedback will be greatly appreciated.

px90 – Thank You For Your Comments!

I went into my admin area today to see what’s lurking behind the curtains of these WordPress blogs. While perusing the pages I stumbled across comments I’ve gotten during the past 2 months. I was under the impression nobody was reading this and I was just writing for my own personal motivation. Meanwhile there are people reading and commenting, and becoming inspired. Thank You for your posts! If I had known people were reading I might have spent a little more time and effort. HaHa, here I am trying to cut down on the time px90 workouts take yet now I’m considering spending more time on the blog… that’s ironic.

I haven’t done px90 yet today so I’ll report later when I do. Thanks again for all of you who believe in me.

Px90 – Round 3 – Day 4

So this px90 workout, Yoga X, is divided into two 40 minute segments. The first half is fluid yoga the later half is static. Both are equally important but with the flow of the first half it is very hard to eliminate anything unless you eliminate the first few moves and go right to the end. Meaning: You start by doing a warrior 1, then a warrior 1+2, then a warrior 1+2+3. So if you go right to the warrior 1+2+3 you could conceivably save some time if you were hard pressed… which I always am. The second, static, half is easier to cut moves out. I’m going to figure out what is best for me as far as what I should cut out.

My friend suggested I post my routine as he thinks my approach to px90 this time around is more obtainable for people with busy lives. So, on his behalf, because he wants to my routine I’m going to do it. Hopefully I can post it Sunday so I can use that schedule next week and fine tune it as needed.

Summary of px90: New workout schedule coming soon.

px90 – Round 3 – Day 3

Knowing this px90 workout inside and out from doing it so many times previously made using my workout sheet without the DVD possible. I didn’t cut anything out as this is another great workout however I will revisit this to see what can go or be swapped. By just eliminating the DVD I saved about 25 min. One thing which may not be the best thing is that I cut my warm up time in half, so from 15 minutes to 7 – 8 minutes. Warming up for 15 minutes never appealed to me. You need to know your own body, if you need 15 minutes take it, if not… don’t.

Summary of px90: Less is More.

px90 – Round 3 – Day 2

So in my quest to modify the px90 workout in efforts to reduce the time I was forced to do the entire plyometrics routine today. I’m going to have to invest a little time in this workout to figure out what I can eliminate altogether or what I can eliminate today but reintroduce next week while getting rid of something I did today, ie. swapping.

Plyometrics is definitely a px90 workout that kick’s your ass in a good way. It might be one of the best conditioning workouts I’ve ever done. However, since round 3 is all about time I need to figure out what’s staying and what’s going to get this baby down to 30 – 45 min tops.

Summary of px90: Round 3 in effect.

px90 – Round 3 – Day 1

So I’m back on the horse and here to give you the 5 min synopsis. As always I’m feeling great which is nice, very nice. But I have to admit I modified my px90 workout. Didn’t use the DVD and only did half of it. You are supposed to do 12 exercises and then repeat them all on day 1. I skipped the repeat part because the past has proven that I don’t like the duration of the px90 workouts. Am I cheating, I’d like to think not. I’m still bringing it, just not for 90 minutes.

Knowing the repeat wasn’t going to happen allowed me to push myself harder the first time. My numbers weren’t as bad as the first time I started the px90 back in 2007, but they obviously weren’t as good as when I stopped the second time around. This blog is now going to report on my modification of the program for people who don’t want or have 90 min every day to workout.

Summary of px90: Time is precious.
